Lancer Rodeo Freshmen take three titles at LCCC Rodeo

Four Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Rodeo Team freshmen earned three titles at the Laramie County Community College (LCCC) Rodeo this past weekend. EWC took top honors in the saddle bronc riding, bull riding and team roping.

Ty Kenner, a freshman from Woodlake, Neb., earned the title of champion saddle bronc rider scoring 143 points on two rides at the LCCC rodeo. Kenner also won the final round in the bareback riding and ended up third in the average.

“This performance added with his strong showing this fall has put Ty at the top of the all-around cowboy regional standings,” Jake Clark, EWC Rodeo Coach, said. “Ty has had the best start of any freshman I’ve seen.”

Freshmen Chris Arnold, of Richardton, N.D., and Kyle McLean, of Miles City, Mont., paired up to win the team roping average with a 15.8 on two runs.

Lancer Bull Rider Lane Lindsay, a freshman from Hot Springs, S.D., won the championship title for the second time this fall with a score of 146 on two rides. Lindsay is leading the region in the bull riding standings.

Teammate Wiley Johnson, of North Platte, Neb., placed second in the first round and fourth in the average and is sitting in the second place position of the regional bull riding standings.

“These two bullriders have a lot of try and talent to go along with it,” Clark said.
