“Dean is such an inspiration to all of us to follow. Besides being an amazing athlete and steer wrestler his is one of the nicest guys in the world. No matter how many times he wins the world he will always come help anyone out. We all really enjoy and appreciate him coming to practice” said Brad Johnson, EWC Rodeo Team Member.

Former EWC Welding Student Wins !!!!!

Chance Pollo (prior EWC welding student)…… !!!!WON!!!!......the welding competition (Weld Trials) at the 2006 AWS Welding & Fabtech Show, in Atlanta GA. The expo and competition filled two very large event centers and brought thousands of industry leaders! Chance has worked extremely hard for the past year and has sacrificed a lot of things in his life to accomplish such a goal. Chance had to compete against the nation’s top six SkillsUSA welders from the last two years. Prior to getting to the competition, Chance has been working as a welder 50+ hour weeks as well as welding and turning in plates, pipe, and pressure vessels for critical skill checks by industry leaders and Certified Welding Inspectors. Winning a competition at this level is comparable to an athlete or team winning a national title.

"I can not thank Stan and Leland enough for their great partnership as SkillsUSA advisors as well as the weekends they have given up to put EWC’s name at the top of the welding ranks!!! It is wonderful to work with a team that cares deeply for the students" stated Chance.

Leland Vetter also accepted an award and recognition from the American Welding Society (AWS) for years of service and the difference he has personally made in the rewarding field of welding! (Even with eye glasses – I know few people that could even come close to matching his welding skill and his ways with youth!)
